Passwords – all passwords are encrypted for every account. This means we do not have access to users passwords and can only reset them to default. Users must change their passwords from the default to access their account to ensure security
Data security – Our website is built on wordpress and uses all the security functions within the site. WordPress has a strong reputation for reacting quickly to security concerns and our website applies these updates quickly. WordPress is used by about 25% of the internet so our confidence is high. We use well known and responsive server providers and review their security provision on an on-going basis. We also use DropBox to share files within the CSS team. Access permissions within DropBox mean that only those with a business reason to access your data can do so.
Sharing data – we NEVER share data with companies or individuals external to CSS.
Payments – all payments are taken via PayPal and we DO NOT receive any credit or debit card details from them. Data we do receive includes a payment confirmation number to enable us to set up your instant account access, your name, email address and postal address for accounting purposes. We will only contact you with information regarding your purchase.
Processing of your Personal Data: Insight Subscribers – Subscription to Insights must be actively be carried out by a user. We collect your email address, IP address and subscription date. We use this to send you our blog updates automatically. We will continue to do this until you withdraw your consent (unsubscribe) or it is determined your consent no longer exists. We do not share your information with third parties. See further information under Blog Updates below.
Processing of your Personal Data: Students who have purchased tuition programmes (‘students’). Purchase of tuition must be actively carried out by a user. We will collect a PayPal payment confirmation number, email address and your postal address. This information is accessible to only the highest users of our systems. Some students will submit mock exams as part of their tuition, these are available to only those responsible for arranging marking, marking and reviewing marking, along with a register of names. Marking keys and results are available to the same group. This data is kept until you tell us that you have passed the exam.
This website operates a Blog called Insights which includes exam tips and articles as well as advertising CSS tuition. Under the GDPR we use the consent lawful basis for anyone subscribing to Insights. Users can subscribe through an online automated process should they wish to do so but do so at their own discretion. Some subscriptions may be manually processed through prior written agreement with the user.
Insight update emails published by this website or it’s owners may contain tracking beacons / tracked clickable links or similar server technologies in order to track subscriber activity.
